Since the introduction of the original iPad, we recognized that mobile devices would revolutionize scientific image analysis. Our goal has always been to provide users with the CoLocalizer experience on these mobile platforms. The rapid advancement of mobile computing has transformed researchers' working habits, enabling tasks that were once only feasible on desktop computers.
As users began to request an iOS version of CoLocalizer more frequently, we realized that a mobile version of our software would greatly enhance flexibility and convenience.
The integration of iCloud Drive with iOS devices and the introduction of the powerful iPad Pro convinced us that creating a mobile version of CoLocalizer was essential. Although achieving this goal involved overcoming significant challenges, we are excited to announce the launch of CoLocalizer for iPad, which bridges the gap between CoLocalizer Pro for Mac and iCloud.
CoLocalizer for iPad is not simply a scaled-down version of the Mac application; it is a fully-featured app specifically designed for the iPad. It offers the same capabilities as CoLocalizer Pro for Mac, but in a mobile format. In some respects, it surpasses the Mac version, putting powerful analysis tools right at your fingertips.
Vadim Zinchuk, M.D., Ph.D., Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor of CoLocalization Research Software, states, "CoLocalizer for iPad looks and feels amazing and, perhaps more importantly, it’s a genuine iOS app." The app fully integrates with CoLocalizer Pro for Mac, allowing users to take advantage of Handoff functionality. This feature enables users to start analyzing images on their Macs and continue on their iPads seamlessly.
CoLocalizer has been meticulously designed for iOS 10 and iPads, utilizing the features and technologies of iOS 10 while harnessing the full power of 64-bit architecture, Automatic Reference Counting (ARC), Core Graphics, Core Image, and Core Animation. This results in state-of-the-art performance and responsiveness.
CoLocalizer for iPad is available as a free download from the Apple App Store. The free version allows users to fully evaluate its functionality, which includes ROI Selection, Background Correction, and Colocalization Quantification on sample images. To analyze custom images, users must purchase a time-based subscription. There are three subscription options available: 1-Month subscription for USD 99, 6-Month subscription for USD 149, and 12-Month subscription for USD 199.
